Today at the Museum I am sorting "paperwork" which is mostly working on the laptop cleaning up files, and researching and downloading information for a future project. I found this picture taken a summer or 2 ago when summer staff had the task of filing real paper work. There was a mixture of receipts, tax info and letters to and from a local school board found in a few of the old school desks that are on display in the main building. To better protect this century plus old information everything was sorted, filed in acid free protectors and now stored in the little train station, which even though is not insulated, does not have the high summer humidly as the main building. The Museum is not equipped to take care of paper or fabrics properly so until a few changes have made to do, so we sadly have to turn away paper and fabric artifacts.

Today at the Museum I am learning something new- How to blog on a totally different system then what I am use to. It should not be difficult.
After taking bit of a winter break I am back to the administration side of volunteering at the Museum. Writing grants, typing minutes, organizing agendas and going to meetings are just a few things on the list. I thought today would be a good day to have a look at the website to update a few typos. I discovered the info for our website on our Facebook page had a typo so the link was not to our page. The Museum is still closed as it is unheated but work as already started for the up coming season. Work that started in the fall on the Blacksmith shop will start up in the near future and planning for the annual Antique Power Show long weekend in May is ongoing. Other event plans are also on the table like the Fibre Fest in July and Harvest Day in September . If you would like to volunteer to help at any of the events or assist at the Museum please contact me. |
